Prejudice disguised as Afrocentrism is becoming an epidemic. It’s hilarious to me to watch as supposedly conscious people attack sistas for being light skinned and/ or wearing weaves and black folks for daring to date outside their race. Are there conversations worth having in those arenas? Sure. But a persons comprehension of the struggle, commitment to the advancement of the diaspora, and ‘blackness’ should not be judged by their hair texture, complexion or who they share a bed with. And this is coming from a brown skinned woman who has rocked her natural hair all her life with a Black (arguably Spanish looking lol) fiancé, and two brown babies on opposite ends of the complexion spectrum. Yall need to wake up and smell the century old divisiveness.
